Vietnam forecast to maintain trade surplus for 9th consecutive year

HANOI, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — Vietnam is expected to maintain a trade surplus for the ninth consecutive year in 2024, Vietnam News Agency said on Tuesday.
Experts were quoted as saying that Vietnam could ship 410 billion U.S. dollars worth of products overseas, and enjoy a trade balance of more than 23 billion dollars for the whole 2024.
An increase in trade surplus will contribute to improving the country’s balance of payments and international reserves to ensure financial security, they said.
Vietnam saw a trade surplus of 14.08 billion dollars in the first seven months of this year, according to the General Statistics Office. ■
