Woman Films ‘Insane’ Moment Hurricane Milton Floods Her Home

A video of a Florida home ravaged by water and storm damage from Hurricane Milton has shocked viewers on TikTok.
The moment was captured in a video posted by @ohdestinyjoy and has garnered 1.5 million views since it was shared on Thursday. The footage was taken in the city of Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County, according to a location shared with the post.
The clip begins with a view of what appears to be heavy rainfall inside a living room area, with a large hole in the ceiling and debris from the broken roof scattered everywhere.

The chaotic scene continues with what appears to be a tree branch that had fallen through a hole in the roof of the kitchen. The camera later pans to other severely damaged rooms covered in debris, including what appears to be a bedroom with a nearly fully collapsed ceiling.
A caption shared with the post says, “Hope it’s over!”
The viral post comes as four people were confirmed to have died in St. Lucie County due to tornadoes that hit the area before the arrival of Milton on Wednesday. In a press release Thursday, county officials said, “The St. Lucie Medical Examiner has confirmed four fatalities as a result of these tornadoes,” according to CNN.

Milton made landfall on Wednesday as a Category 3 storm around 8:30 p.m. ET near Siesta Key. It was the second major hurricane to hit Florida in less than two weeks.
The hurricane saw a “life-threatening storm surge” occur along portions of the west-central coast of the Florida Peninsula and southwest Florida, accompanied by “damaging waves,” the National Weather Service said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday.

A Flash Flood Emergency continued over parts of west-central Florida on Thursday, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in a post on X.
The center of Hurricane Milton was said to be pulling away from Florida’s east coast, with “strong gusty winds and heavy rainfall still occurring near the space coast,” the NHC said in a later post Thursday on X.
Around 125 homes have been destroyed, many of which are mobile homes in communities for senior citizens, said Kevin Guthrie, the director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, according to The Associated Press.
Over 11.5 million people in Florida and a total of more than 13 million across the nearby states of Georgia and the Carolinas were reported to be without power, according to data compiled by PowerOutage.us at the time of writing on Thursday.
Users on TikTok were shocked by the footage in the viral clip.
